Responsible Business, Equality & Human Rights

Our commitment to responsible business: protecting the environment, respecting people, and creating lasting economic value.

HumBot Ltd · Updated

Statement of commitment

HumBot Ltd is committed to conducting business with respect for human rights, equal opportunity, and the environment. We aim to embed environmental, social, and economic considerations into how we work, develop technology, and select suppliers.

This statement sets out our commitments across our operations and business relationships. It is informed by the sustainability themes in the United Nations Sustainable Procurement Framework and the objectives of the Women’s Empowerment Principles. We seek continuous improvement and recognise that commitments must be supported by practical action and evidence.

01 / Environmental

Protecting the environment

We commit to considering environmental impacts throughout the life of the products and services we use and deliver.

  • Pollution prevention and responsible resource use

Reduce unnecessary energy, water, and material use; prevent pollution; and favour durable equipment, repair, reuse, and responsible recycling of electronic waste.

  • Climate change and mitigation

Seek opportunities to reduce the footprint of our operations, travel, and digital services through efficient computing, appropriate infrastructure sizing, and consideration of suppliers’ energy and emissions information.

  • Environmental protection and biodiversity

Consider the effects of purchasing and supplier activities on ecosystems, habitats, and biodiversity, and favour options that help avoid environmental harm.

02 / Social

Respecting people and their rights

We commit to treating people with dignity and respect across our workplace, customer relationships, and supply chain.

  • Human rights and fair labour

Respect internationally recognised human rights and fundamental labour rights, including freedom of association and collective bargaining. Reject forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, discrimination, and harassment, and support fair pay and working conditions.

  • Gender equality and equal opportunity

Promote fair access to recruitment, pay, development, and advancement. Support equal pay for work of equal value and an inclusive workplace, regardless of sex, gender, race, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.

  • Health, safety, and well-being

Support safe and healthy working conditions, physical and mental well-being, accessibility, and reasonable adjustments. Encourage people to raise concerns and commit to addressing them fairly, without retaliation.

  • Sustainable consumption and responsible technology

Encourage thoughtful consumption and responsible use of technology. Consider privacy, accessibility, and potential bias when designing and delivering AI solutions, with appropriate human oversight.

03 / Economic

Creating lasting economic value

We commit to purchasing and business decisions that consider long-term value alongside social and environmental impacts.

  • Whole life cycle costing

Consider acquisition, operation, energy and resource use, maintenance, support, and end-of-life costs when assessing value, rather than relying on the initial purchase price alone.

  • Local communities and smaller businesses

Seek opportunities for local suppliers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and women-owned businesses to compete fairly. Consider community benefit, supplier capability, and responsible commercial terms in purchasing decisions.

  • Supply chain sustainability

Consider suppliers’ environmental, labour, human rights, and ethical practices. Seek relevant evidence, communicate our expectations, and work to address material risks and improve practices across business relationships.

Women’s empowerment and gender equality

The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact, guide businesses in advancing equality in the workplace, marketplace, and community. We support these objectives and commit to pursuing them through:

  1. Leadership that takes responsibility for advancing gender equality.
  2. Fair treatment, equal opportunity, and non-discrimination at work.
  3. A workplace that supports the safety, health, and well-being of women and all colleagues.
  4. Equitable access to learning, professional development, and career progression.
  5. Purchasing, partnerships, and communications that support women’s economic participation.
  6. Community engagement that promotes inclusion and equal opportunity.
  7. Reviewing progress and communicating outcomes with supporting evidence.

WEPs participation

This statement expresses support for the objectives of the WEPs; it does not assert formal WEPs signatory status. Formal participation is a separate process requiring a CEO-signed statement and acceptance through the WEPs application process.

Accountability and continuous improvement

We commit to reviewing these commitments as our business develops, considering sustainability in relevant decisions, and encouraging colleagues and suppliers to raise concerns. We aim to improve the evidence available for assessing progress and to communicate achievements accurately, with a clear distinction between objectives and demonstrated results.
