Dozens of systems, no single source of truth
A large, globally distributed organization ran on dozens of disconnected systems — spanning everything from finance and workforce to facilities and assets. Each corner of the business had its own application or database, with its own schema, export quirks, and refresh cadence. Answering a cross-cutting question meant stitching spreadsheets together by hand and hoping the numbers lined up.
There was no governed source of truth, and no repeatable way to create one. Every new dataset became a bespoke, one-off pipeline that was slow to build and fragile to run. The organization needed a platform that could ingest anything, standardize everything, and serve trustworthy data products at scale — on an open foundation it fully controlled.
